Virat Kohli has had a illustrious career thus far winning almost every major trophy in international cricket. But a coveted title that eludes his trophy cabinet is the IPL trophy which he has failed to win in the last 16 years.
On Sunday, Kohli and RCB lost yet another chance to win the trophy after they lost to Mumbai Indians in their final league game of the IPL 2023 season and were eliminated from the tournament.
The 34-year-old batsman is the only player in the history of the IPL to represent just one franchise throughout his career.
But Pietersen now feels that it is time that he decides to part ways with his beloved RCB and head back to his home city and join the Dehli Capitals.

Incidentally, Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) had an opportunity to sign Kohli from the U19 players draft ahead of the IPL 2008 auction but the franchise decided to pick Pradeep Sangwan instead of Kohli as they wanted to sign a bowler. RCB then grabbed the opportunity and roped in the batsman.
