The report further claims that while the star player is ruled out of the next two Test matches, he might not come back for the fifth match as well, which is scheduled to start on March 6 in Dharamsala.

More information on Kohli's participation in this series will be available once the BCCI selectors announce the squad for the final three Test matches. The selectors are set to meet later this week.

Why is Virat Kohli not playing in the Test series against England?

Just three days before the series started, BCCI had officially informed that Virat Kohli will miss the first two matches due to "personal reasons". He had reportedly spoken to captain Rohit Sharma regarding his absence from the matches.

While there is still no official confirmation from the player or the board about the actual reason, Kohli's former Royal Challengers Bangalore team-mate AB De Villiers had revealed that the player's wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma is pregnant with the couple's second child.
