The 2024 T20 World Cup hosts, USA have undoubtedly turned into a force to be reckoned with, winning two out of the three games played in Group A and close to sealing a spot in the super 8 round of the tournament, an unthinkable feat prior to the start of the World Cup.
Along with the skipper Monank Patel and talisman Aaron Jones, another name that has contributed to USA success in the ongoing tournament is that of Saurabh Netravalkar. Netravalkar led the USA bowling attack from the front in their shocking and famous win over Pakistan a few days ago.

The 32-year-old picked up 2 wickets, giving just 18 runs in his spell of 4 overs. He also bowled the super over in that thrilling game, restricting Pakistan to just 13 runs and taking a wicket as the hosts went on to win by 5 runs.
He played his most recent game against his grassroot nation India, wherein he once again picked up 2 wickets for 18 runs, but this time it turned out to be in a losing cause as the Indians won the game by a comfortable 7-wicket margin.
In a recent interview, Netravalkar’s sister Nidhi opened up about his passion about the game, and how the talented player has handled his sports life despite working as a professional software developer.

It's the ‘Mumbaikerness’ in him - Nidhi says
Netravalkar had been a Mumbai resident for quite a while before moving to the USA to complete his masters. He represented India in the U19 World Cup in 2010, ending the tournament as the leading wicket-taker. Despite the talent, the competition to get into the senior team was fierce and Netravalkar opted to move out of India to complete his post graduation, eventually representing the USA in cricket.

Talking to news 18, Netravalkar’s sister, Nidhi praised his brother’s dedication in both aspects of his life, be it professional or in sports. She described Netravalkar as one of the brightest students, as he topped his classes frequently.
She also mentioned his life as a Mumbaikar being the main reason behind him being so good at multitasking. She said that he always knew that her brother had two careers.
