Bangladesh's final matches ahead of the global event began earlier this month as they hosted Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series, winning 4-1 in the matches played in Chattogram and Mirpur. The Tigers then took off early for the USA, to play a three-match series against the World Cup co-hosts starting from May 21.

The second match took place in Prairie View on Thursday. Putting USA in to bat, Bangladesh restricted the hosts to 144/6, as Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain took two wickets each. Captain Monank Patel (42) top-scored for USA.

In reply, Bangladesh lost Soumya Sarkar in the first over, but their chase appeared to be on track at 106/4 in 14.3 overs. However, after Mahmudullah was bowled by Shadley van Schadwyk the visitors collapsed to 138 all out, losing their last six wickets for the addition of just 32 runs.

With an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, it is the USA's first-ever series win over a Test-playing nation.
