Travis Head and Heinrich Klassen put on a show at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Monday evening as they helped Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) break their own record, posting a total of 287/3 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Head opened the innings with a blistering 41-ball 102 while Klassen came down the order to score 67 off just 31 balls.
The Australian and South-African have another thing in common though. Apart from representing the same franchise and both being devastating batsmen, they have also been former players of Royal Challengers Bengaluru. It's one of the many instances wherein, former RCB players have comeback to haunt them.
Which former RCB players have come back to haunt the franchise?
It's not just just Head and Klassen, there’s been a trend of former RCB players more or less always performing well against them. Back in 2022, it was Shivam Dube who smashed an unbeaten 95* for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against the Bengaluru side.
Dube represented RCB in the 2019-20 season, playing 11 matches for them but just scoring a mere 129 runs at an average of 18.42. But since the current 30-year-old has started playing for CSK, he has been in a league of his own, batting brilliantly for the five-time champions in the middle order. He is also rumored to be a part of the Indian squad that will be playing the World cup in the USA and the West Indies in June.
Another such example is KL Rahul, who has been an important part of the Indian national team for quite a while now. The Lucknow Super Giants also represented RCB once and smashed an unbeaten 132 representing the Kings XI Punjab back in 2020.
Kl Rahul’s team mate Quinton de Kock also scored big against his former employer earlier this season, scoring 81 off 56 balls as LSG defeated RCB at their own backyard by 28 runs.

What’s next for RCB?
The three-time finalists of the IPL have been in terrible form this season. They were smashed for 287 runs in their most recent games and have just one game of the seven that they have played this season. The loss against SRH proved to be their fifth consecutive loss of the season.
With the form that the Bengaluru side have been showcasing this season it won’t be a surprise if another former RCB player ends up scoring big against them as the season progresses.
