India's bowling coach, Paras Mhambrey, criticized West Indies' defensive batting approach on a slow pitch which made it hard for bowlers to take wickets in the second Test at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Rohit Sharma's side are already 1-0 up in the series, winning by an innings and 141 runs in the first Test at Dominica.
However, Indian bowlers lacked bite in the second Test and the lack of intent to play shots, from the West Indies batters, has made it more challenging for the Indian bowlers to find breakthroughs. The home team is 229/5 at the end of day 3.
Mhambrey insisted that the current pitch favoured batters, making it arduous to take 20 wickets and achieve a result in the match.

What did coach Paras Mhambrey say?
"The pitch is very slow, very easy for batting. Towards the end, it started turning a bit. West Indies were defensive with the bat too. When there's an attempt to play shots, there's an opportunity to get a wicket but they didn't even try that.
"We were quite impressive, our bowlers did whatever was expected of them though. I think the pitch should be sporting. There has to be a balance - something for batters and bowlers... On this pitch though it will be hard to take 20 wickets... It's not entertaining, you want to get results," he stated.
What next for India?
With two days left in the match, India will aim to capitalize on the remaining time to secure a victory. With R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the line-up, they would hope that the spin duo will produce some magic on day four to wrap up the West Indies innings as quickly as possible on Sunday.
