'Terrible cricket' - Waqar Younis blasts Pakistan fielding after overthrows and extras in Super Over loss to USA image

The Pakistan vs USA game has been one for the T20 World Cup archives! The debutants and co-hosts USA defeated Pakistan in what was one of the biggest upsets in the history of cricket.

There were thrills throughout the match, with USA restricting Pakistan to 159, with only Babar Azam and Shadab Khan managing decent scores. In reply, USA had to score 5 off the last ball to win the game but they managed a boundary to tie the game.

As a result of the tie, the customary super over was bowled to decide the result, which the minnows went on to win.

In the super over,  the Pakistan players were not on their toes, and leaked runs, while also gifting extra runs to the USA batters. Former Pakistan speedster Waqar Younis was agitated during the live commentary over the fielding performance in Pakistan's super over against USA.

What happened in the Super Over against USA?

USA batted first and scored 18 runs in the Super Over bowled by Mohammed Amir. Interestingly, Pakistan fielding during the Super Over was poor.

The seven extras gifted by Pakistan team haunted them and they ended up shooting themselves in the foot.

Wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan gave three runs in overthrows, while the boundary riders were also slack woth their throws, allowing USA to score 18 runs in the Super Over with just one boundary in it.

In reply, Pakistan could only manage 13 runs.

What did Waqar say about Pakistan's fielding?

Waqar Younis lambasted Babar Azam & Co. for their fielding efforts against USA, especially in the super over. Mohammad Amir and team conceded 7 extras in six balls, as USA set a 19-run target in six balls.

I can't believe Pakistan are playing like this. This is terrible cricket, Waqar Younis spoke while being on commentary duties for the PAK vs USA game.
