Being put into bat, India were bundled up for 119 in within 19 overs. The Pakistan bowlers were on-song with their skills, and restricted their arch-rivals within an attainable target.
However, the second-half of the match was forgetful, yet again from Pakistan. This time, the batters failed to do their job, scoring 113 runs in their quota of 20 overs.

Shoaib Akhtar was frustrated on Babar Azam & Co., as they failed to chase a mediocre 120-run target at the Nassau County Stadium. Akhtar questioned the players on playing for their personal milestones, instead of playing for Pakistan.
I know you are disappointed, the whole nation is down. The MORALE is down. In the beginning of the game, I said that the personal goal does not matter. You need to play for each other, play for the country, Shoaib Akhtar slammed the players for playing for personal milestones.
He also spoke about players' lack of intent during the run-chase. The 48-year-old felt hard-done by, as Pakistan could potentially be eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024, after second consecutive loss in four days.
You need to show intent to win the match. Personal milestones like 1000 runs, 4000 or 10000 career runs, do not matter. Do Pakistan deserve to be out before the Super 8? God knows!, a dejected Shoaib Akhtar expressed on X.
