India are likely to name middle-order batsman Suryakumar as standby for the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia next month.
According to a report from Times of India, the Mumbai Indians batsman has been asked by the BCCI to keep his UK visa ready. Although, an official communication from the board is awaited.

Who could Suryakumar Yadav replace in the Indian squad for the World Test Championship final?
BCCI are keeping Suryakumar Yadav ready in case KL Rahul fails to pass to fitness test ahead of the final. The Lucknow Super Giants skipper picked up a hamstring injury during their IPL clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Rahul is currently being monitored by the board and will undergo a treat at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. He has been ruled out of the ongoing IPL 2023.
Has Suryakumar Yadav played in Test matches?
The Mumbai-based cricketer was included in the Indian squad for the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia earlier this year. He made his debut in the first test on February 9. He scored just 8 runs in the only opportunity he got to bat.
Yadav was initially omitted from the World Test Championship final squad as Ajinkya Rahane made a comeback to the test team.
