Team India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is set to make a much-awaited return back to action in the latter stages of the ongoing Duleep Trophy tournament.
SKY who was initially set to feature in the competition as a part of the 'India C' team, was ruled out of the match due to a right thumb injury while fielding in the Buchi Babu Invitational tournament in Tamil Nadu.
The Sporting News provides an update on his injury and his expected return date after recovery.

India T20I captain SKY is currently undergoing recovering from his thumb injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
"Surya's recovery is going well. He is almost 100 per cent and he knows it," a BCCI source told Hindustan Times.
"The BCCI Medical Team is continuing to assess his injury, and a further evaluation next week will determine his availability for the second round," the BCCI had said in a statement on September 4, ahead of the first round of Duleep Trophy fixtures.
SKY while still not fit to play, was present at the Chinnaswamy Stadium during the match between India A and India B At Bengaluru. He was joined by India women's wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia in the sidelines.

According to reports, he is likely to make a return back to action during the latter stage of the Duleep Trophy. However, it is still unclear if it will be during the second round or during the third round of matches.
The second round will begin on Thursday, September 12, while the third round of the matches will begin on September 19, which coincides with the start of the first Test match between India and Bangladesh, in Chennai.

While we wait for confirmation, the BCCI has not named any replacements for SKY in the India C squad yet, it is expected that he will be available to play in the second round.
The three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh will begin on October 6. As the Indian captain, he is expected to fully recover from injury and feature in that series.
