What happened in the match between Gohilwad Gladiators and Kutch Warriors?
Kutch Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted a score of 145 runs for the loss of eight wickets, courtesy of a top-notch batting display by Parswaraj Rana.
Rana continued his supreme run of form in the SPL 2023. He hit his first half-century of the tournament (54 off 38) on Sunday. Shaurya Shandalia and Maurya Ghoghari bowled beautifully, as they bagged two wickets each for the Gladiators.
In response, the Gladiators came ever-so-close to winning the tie. The Warriors' bowlers had a superb start in the powerplay, as they bagged two wickets in quick succession. However, skipper Prerak Mankad hit 32 runs off 26 deliveries to pull things back in favor of the Gladiators.
It was not until Raxit Mehta's innings of 52 runs that Gladiators had any chance of pulling the run-chase successfully. But it was just not meant to be in the end. A bowling masterclass by Kushang Patel and Parshwaraj Rana edged the tie in favor of the Kutch Warriors. The duo bagged two wickets each as they restricted the Gohilwad Gladiators to 143 runs.
