Surya played a match-winning innings against RCB at the Wankhede on Tuesday in IPL 2023. Chasing 200, MI started on the front foot. Ishan Kishan’s fiery knock of 42 off 21 deliveries was ideal for the run-chase. 

After a setback in the powerplay, Nehal and Surya steadied the ship of the hosts. Suryakumar was the star of the show scoring 83 runs off 35 deliveries before getting out to Vyshak in the sixteenth over.

Surya’s inning was both flamboyant and fearless. He started as a second fiddle to Nehal. But it doesn’t take long for him to change gears, does it? He completed his half-century in 26 deliveries. His knock included seven boundaries and six maximums. He had a strike rate of 237.

Mumbai Indians won the game in the seventeenth over. They move onto twelve points and are now placed third on the points table. Their opponents Royal Challengers Bangalore are positioned seventh, with eleven points in ten matches.

Today, SKY crossed the landmark of scoring 100 sixes in the IPL. The 32-year-old has 102 maximums to his name in the tournament. Across the seasons, Suryakumar has scored 3020 runs at a strike rate of 141.
