Although it was an optional training session for India on Thursday, it did not keep Shreyas Iyer in the hotel room, who return back to practice after having recovered from the back spasms.

The middle-order batter played two games in the Asia Cup 2023 before experiencing back issues minutes before the toss of the India-Pakistan tie. Although he was originally planned to be in the playing XI, his name got omitted from the team sheet at the eleventh four, promoting the comeback of KL Rahul.

Will Shreyas Iyer play versus Bangladesh

India's berth in the final of the Asia Cup 2023 is already confirmed. It is expected that they will rest a few players in the dead-rubber versus Bangladesh, scheduled on September 15.

Although the team management would have been forced to drop Rahul or Ishan Kishan in order to pick Shreyas, they can play him at least in the Bangladesh match on the pretext of resting one of the two wicket-keepers.
