India outclassed Pakistan in their third match of the ongoing 2023 Cricket World Cup to extend their lead to eight wins a in a row against their arch-rivals in the ODI World Cup.

Pakistan were bowled out for just 191 runs in Ahmedabad on Saturday which the hosts chased down in just 30 overs.

During the tensed encounter, former cricketers from both countries Shoaib Akhtar and Sachin Tendulkar got involved in friendly banter on social media but they later buried the hatchet.

What happened between Shoaib Akhtar and Sachin Tendulkar over Twitter?

As a Pre-match booster, Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar posted a tweet to instill confidence in the minds of the Pakistan players ahead of a tense encounter in Ahmedabad.

India beat Pakistan to record a comprehensive win over their arch-rivals, as they chased the 192-run target with over 19 overs to spare. 

Post the game, Sachin responded to the banter with a fiery tweet. The Mumbai-born batter addressed Akhtar as a friend, and said that the Indians followed all of Akhtar's advices and recorded a thumping win.

My friend, aap ka advice follow kiya aur sab kuch billlkoool THANDA rakha.

To calm things down, Akhtar called Sachin the Greatest of all time as he wrote,

My friend you're the greatest player of all times to have graced the game and the biggest ambassador of it. Our friendly banter doesn't change that for sure", Shoaib Akhtar tweeted out of respect to Sachin Tendulkar.

Sachin greeted Akhtar with kindness and wished him and his family the best. Akhtar sent his love and regards in return.

"My best wishes to you and your family. 😊🙏", wished Sachin.

"Lots of love & warm regards brother. Hope to see you soon,"  Shoaib Akhtar tweeted.

What next for India and Pakistan? 

After going unbeaten in the first three games at the ODI World Cup 2023, Rohit Sharma & Co. will face Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on 19 October.

Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, head to Bangalore, where they will face Australia at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on October 20.
