Former Indian bowler and former selector Venkatesh Prasad believes that Shivam Dube, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rinku Singh should be automatic choices for India's playing XI at the upcoming T20 World Cup in June.

India's squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be held in the USA and the Caribbean, is expected to be announced sometime late in May.

The ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) ends on May 26, so we can predict the squad to be announced immediately after the conclusion of the season or at least within a week before the IPL 2024 final.

In recent months, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the potential selection of Virat Kohli for the biennial event.

Not just that, but social media was rife with opinions from online critics, who suggested that Kohli should not be a part of the Indian squad after he scored the joint-slowest IPL century of all-time

Venkatesh Prasad wants Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Rinku Singh to be in India's XI

Prasad took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, April 8, to give his two cents on which players should make it to the Indian playing XI at the T20 World Cup. He suggested that the top six would definitely include skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, with the next three spots being taken up by Dube, SKY, and Rinku.

Notably, he left out star all-rounder Hardik Pandya out of his thoughts for the playing XI.

Shivam Dube for his striking ability against spinners, Surya for being the best T20 international batter and Rinku Singh for his exceptional finishing ability. It will be great if India finds a way to have these 3 in the 11 in the T20 WC. With Virat and Rohit , this will leave spot for just a keeper batsman. Interesting to see how it pans out.

How have Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Rinku Singh performed in IPL 2024?

Dube has been the most impressive player of the trio, scoring 176 runs in five innings so far. Rinku Singh has looked good, but has faced a grand total of 42 balls in four innings, thanks to the top-order efficiency of the KKR batsmen.

SKY, who missed MI's opening three games, made his comeback against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Sunday, April 7. However, he was dismissed for a duck.
