Pakistan cricket is going through a tumultuous time ever since the World Cup 2023 started.
During the World Cup, all the attention was on how the team is under-performing, and rightly so. Now that they have been knocked in only the league stage of the tournament, the focus is on the changes that need to be made.

Notably, Pakistan ended their World Cup campaign on the fifth position, winning only four of their nine games. Their tournament ended with a 93-run defeat that they suffered at the hands of England.
Babar Azam's captaincy future to be discussed in a meeting on Wednesday
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), led by their chairman Zaka Ashraf, is preparing a roadmap for the side's recovery. He had arranged a meeting with some of the prominent names of Pakistan cricket, including Mohammad Hafeez, Younis Khan, Wahab Riaz and Sohail Tanveer on Tuesday to discuss about the roles they can be given in the national set-up.
Ashraf has also summoned Babar Azam for a meeting on Wednesday, as reported by various Pakistani media outlets. The agenda of the meeting will be on Pakistan's poor performance in the 2023 World Cup and Babar's captaincy future.
While it was earlier being reported that Babar himself would leave the Pakistan white-ball captaincy, speculations are rife that he could asked to resign from the leadership of all formats.
Reportedly, Shan Masood is being considered as an option for the ODI and Test captaincy, while Shaheen Shah Afridi could become the T20 skipper.
It seems that Babar Azam will have to resign from captaincy otherwise he would be sacked by PCB. He has an important meeting today with Chairman PCB Zaka Ashraf. Shan Masood likely to be appointed captain for Test & ODI. Shaheen Shah Afridi likely to be appointed captain for T20.
