Pakistan batter Shan Masood replaced Babar Azam as the Test captain, after the fiasco at the ODI World Cup 2023. Masood, who was elected as the heir to Babar, has had a tough time at the helm in the red ball format.
Masood became the first Pakistan skipper to lose a Test match against Bangladesh, following the first Test and subsequently the 0-2 series loss. Nothing has been going as per plan for the 34-year-old, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Masood is yet to lead his team to a Test match win. He has lost crucial series against Australia 0-3 (away) and the opening Test against England in Multan as well.
As Shan Masood's Pakistan scripts unwanted history against Bangladesh, The Sporting News looks at his captaincy record since the appointment.

What is Shan Masood's Test captaincy record for Pakistan?
Shan Masood has led Pakistan to s consecutive Test losses, after being elected to lead the team.
The team experienced a white-wash away from home to Australia in December last year and have been white-washed by Asian minnows Bangladesh for the first-time in Test history.
To be fair, the Australia assignment was tough for Masood and Pakistan did put up a competitive show in a couple of the Tests.

Did Pakistan an Shan Masood get the team selection wrong for Bangladesh Test series?
Masood was slammed by Pakistani fans for being the first skipper to lose against Bangladesh in Test-cricket history. The hosts set out an all-pace attack, omitting every single option of spin for the two-match Test series against the Asian counterparts.
However, as things turned out, the Pakistan batting-order was decimated by the opposition spin-bowling attack. The hosts were bowled out for 146 in the second innings, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan picking seven wickets among them.
In the second Test, the team dropped Shaheen Afridi to bring in the spinner, Abrar Ahmed, however once again, the Pakistan batters faltered under pressure, while the bowlers gave away the game after being in an advantage by putting Bangladesh under pressure at 26/6 in the first innings. The visitors then managed to add over 200+ runs.
First test match at home and Shan genius ielts masood about to produce the most embarrassing loss in history. Bangladeshi spinners bowling their team to victory but our lead spinner is in Islamabad because didn't need him at new perth wicket in Pakistan.
