Saurashtra Premier League 2023 saw two intense matches on Friday. In the first game of the day, Gohilwad Gladiators took on Sorath Lions. Gladiators went on to quell the challenge of the Lions in what was a facile win.
In the second game of the day, Halar Heroes took on Zalawad Royals and cantered to a facile win to open their account in the tournament.

What happened in Gohilwad Gladiators vs Sorath Lions
Gladiators won the toss and elected to bat against Lions. Opening batsman Krishnakant Pandit was the star of the show for Gladiators with a terrific 22-ball 39 that set the tone for the game.
Vishwaraj Jadeja (28) and Raxit Mehta (37) gave him good support despite losing three quick wickets in between. A late cameo from Niket Joshi meant Gladiators were able to post a score of 144 in their 20 overs.
In reply, Sorath Lions were jolted early and never really recovered. Some sloppy running never helped them. Despite impact player Bhagyaraj Chudasama's 26-ball 43, Lions never got close to the target, eventually falling short by 20 runs.

What happened in Halar Heroes vs Zalawad Royals?
Zalawad Royals won the toss and chose to bat against Heroes but it was to no avail as Heroes ended up winning quite easily.
Royals posted a decent score of 151/9 in their 20 overs, largely thanks to an innings of 42 (25) by Dev Dand. They were limited by the efforts of Pranav Karia who picked by 3 wickets in his four overs. Sammar Gajjar picked up three wickets himself as well.
Heroes went on to post their first win of the tournament with ease, overhauling the target with 15 balls to spare. Snell Patel was the hero with a 38-ball 58. Jay Gohil gave him terrific support with a 40-ball 58.
