India head into the second ODI in Gqeberha with momentum on their side following a thrashing of South Africa in the inaugural ODI in Johannesburg. The Men in Blue beat the Proteas by eight wickets, with more than 33 overs to spare.

The Second ODI is set to take place at the same venue as the Second  T20I, the St. George's Park, Gqeberha.

For the hosts, Aiden Markram will continue to be the captain of the side, with Rassie van der Dussen, Keshav Maharaj, and David Miller all being in the squad. The Proteas have firepower in their batting line-up, but failed to cause any concern to Indians in Jo'burg.

As for India, KL Rahul will continue to assume the captaincy duties in the absence of Rohit Sharma. Rinku Singh, who missed out on the first ODI, might be in line to make his ODI debut, while Sai Sudharsan could be retained in the Playing XI too, after his heroics at the Wanderers.

South Africa vs India 2nd ODI: Toss

In the past, the pitch at St. George's Park has assisted both pacers and spinners. As there is no chance of rain in the day-night encounter, the dew could cause lesser damage than otherwise.

This is not considered as a flat wicket (batting paradise), and even a score of 280 could be decisive. To put up runs on the scoreboard, knowing if you have done enough, could be the route to go in the second ODI at Gqeberha. The Indian bowlers had a field day in Jo'burg and would be hoping the same on Tuesday.

In 42 ODIs played here, teams batting second have won 21 games while teams batting first have won 20 games. The team winning the toss could choose to bat first and defend the target later.

South Africa vs India 2nd ODI: Prediction

Both the hosts and the visitors do not have a full-strength team, especially when it comes to the bowling unit. A few players were even handed their debuts in the Jo'burg ODI. And a few more could be debuting in Gqeberha too.

India will be facing the dilemma of whether to play two spinners or opt for three. Remember, India have three frontline spinners Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal, with bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar also being a part of the squad.

The pace bowling lineup for both teams lacks experience. India have Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar, and Akash Deep. For the Proteas, it's the same problem with Lizaad Williams, Nandre Burger, Wiaan Mulder, Ottniel Baartman, and Mihlali Mpongwana are not too experienced either.

When it comes to the batting department, South Africa's lineup looks more assured than India's. However, the hosts failed to fire in Jo'burg in the inaugural ODI.

If we were to predict, India would seal the series by winning the second ODI in Gqeberha.
