On the show, Sheeran spoke about his love for sport, as well as his relationship with the late, great, Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne, narrating a humorous incident from one of the pair's trips to Australia. He said,
We had a friend that passed away. Me, Shane and Michael, we all used to play blackjack together in Melbourne. And so when Michael passed away, I flew over to Melbourne and I said to Shane, "We should go to the casino, we should get Michael's favorite wine, and we should have a game of blackjack."
The night was about me and him playing blackjack, drinking the wine, remembering Michael and I arrived.... and Shane was kind of there by the roulette table. And I walk up and I'm like, "You alright?" And he's like, "Yeah, I'm just digging in. I'm just digging in, just digging in."
And his lucky number was 23 And he would always bet on 23. He had lost quite a bit and I'd had a bit to drink and I was like, Shane... Forget 23..my lucky number 17, put it on 17. So he gets the stack and puts it on 17. And then it hits 23!
Sheeran went on to speak about watching cricket with Warne, hailing the spinner's foresight and knowledge of the game, a point that was backed up by Rohit as well. Warne passed away in Thailand in March 2022 due to a heart attack. He is still the second-highest wicket taker in Test match history with a tally of 708 wickets.
