Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored a quickfire half-century to help his team reach 100 in just 12.2 overs against West Indies in their second innings of the second Test in Port of Spain.

Sharma hit 50 off just 35 as India became the fastest team in Test cricket history to reach 100 runs in an innings.

Misbah is followed by David Warner who needed 23 balls to register a half-century against Pakistan in Sydney in 2017.

The fastest Indian to score 50 in Test cricket is Rishabh Pant who took 28 balls to reach his half-century against Sri Lanka in 2022.
