Virat Kohli has been an even longer absence from the Duleep Trophy as compared to Rohit. The Indian run-scoring machine last featured in the domestic competition fourteen years ago in 2010. He represented the North Zone against the West Zone. The then 21-year-old was yet to feature for the Indian Test side.
Kohli scored a run-a-ball 56 in the first innings as North Zone were bowled out for just 294 as compared to West Zone’s 769. He never got to feature in the second innings with the bat as the West Zone batted the entire time, drawing the match.
However, Virat bowled in both the innings unable to pick up a single wicket, giving away a combined 56 runs.
