Rohit Sharma is all set to lead India at the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. Though India are currently engaged in a three-match series against Australia, Rohit is not part of the first two matches.

Rohit Sharma was rested for the first two ODIs against Australia. Team India have won both ODIs in the absence of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper is likely to lead the team in the 3rd ODI against Australia at Rajkot. 

The Indian captain, in the mean time, was hosted by journalist Vimal Kumar over a podcast. The 36-year-old revealed some interesting opinions and secrets over the podcast.

What is Rohit Sharma's favourite meal?

Rohit Sharma revealed his go-to meal in the interview with Vimal Kumar. Having spent some time in Mumbai, the fans would have expected a fancy name such as Vada Pav. To the surprise of many, the Indian skipper revealed that his favourite meal is "Dal Chaawal".  

"My most favourite food is "Dal-Chaawal". It has been my go-to meal for years. I would eat "Rasam-Chawal" too, which is a South Indian dish", said Sharma.

When asked about the difficulty of finding Indian food in countries like the West Indies, Rohit said that there are Indian restaurants are omnipresent. He added that Dal is available in every corner of the world.

Rohit also revealed that he would want to visit a Scandinavian country and watch the northern lights. He and his family love London and Dubai as destinations.

Who did Rohit Sharma name as his idols?

Rohit Sharma revealed that his biggest idols are his parents. The 36-year-old revealed that his  mom and dad struggled their way up for him and his brother. Rohit Sharma also talked about his father's fandom for Test Cricket.

"My father is a big fan of Test Cricket. He called me day and night when I made my test debut, but was unmoved when I scored a double century in ODI", revealed Rohit.

What next for the Indian cricket team?

The Indian team won the second ODI on Sunday, and lead the series 2-0. After clinching the silverware in Indore, India are will face Australia in the third and final ODI against Australia at the Kandheri Stadium in Rajkot. The fans should be reminded that this will be the last match for Team India ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
