Indian captain Rohit Sharma recorded his record seventh ODI World Cup hundred on Wednesday as the men in blue outclassed Afghanistan in their second match of the ongoing World Cup.
Sharma played a brilliant knock of 131 off 84 balls as India comfortably chased down 273 runs posted by Afghanistan.
The skipper also broke Kapil Dev's record of scoring the fastest century in the ODI World Cup by an Indian player. Sharma scored his hundred off just 63 balls surpassing Dev's record of century in 72 balls which he hit against Zimbabwe at the 1983 World Cup.

Laxman tweeted,
From this in 2011, to becoming the highest ever century maker in World Cup history, scoring 7 hundred in just 2 World Cups plus 2 matches, just proves again that “Never ever give up” and that Champions find a way to live their dream.
