Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma has been known for his power hitting skills, especially in the shorter format of the game. Rohit is the second highest scorer in the all-time T20 World Cup record books and will have an important role to play in India’s 2024 T20 World Cup campaign. 

Despite his pedigree in T20 cricket though, he has been struggling against left arm pacers for quite a while now. Rohit has had a disastrous record against left hand pacers in T20s in 2024. Rohit scored a half century in the opening game against Ireland, but has struggled massively in the following three games.

He was once again dismissed early in the Super 8 clash against Afghanistan, having scored a mere 8 runs off 13 deliveries. Although he has been brilliant as a captain, Rohit has struggled with the bat. 

Rohit boasts an extraordinary record against the Afghans, but was unable to make any major difference with the bat this time around.

Rohit Sharma’s struggle vs left arm pacers

After the unbeaten half century against Ireland, Rohit had underwhelming numbers against all the three games following that. He was dismissed by left arm pacers in all the games.

Shaheen Afridi dismissed him in the game against Pakistan. In the chase against USA, Rohit was dismissed by Saurabh Netravalkar, while in the Super 8 clash against Afghanistan, Rohit fell victim to the inform Fazhal Farooqi.

India and Rohit will be now up against Bangladesh in their upcoming game of the Super 8s on Saturday, June 22, after which they will be taking on the mighty Australians in their final SUper 8 game on June 24.
