India will soon take on Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) Final which is set to be played at The Oval in England, London from June 7 to June 11.

While many of India's batsmen, such as Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli, are in top form coming into the WTC Final, England's pitches are notorious to be tough for batters due to the weather conditions and wet tracks which can give bowlers with the duke ball an advantage.

India Test Captain Rohit Sharma spoke about the hurdles that come with batting in England and how one can face them.

Rohit Sharma: Batters need to be ready for the grind in English conditions

Speaking at the 'Afternoon with Test Legends’ event at The Oval, Sharma stated that a batsman has to endure the tough conditions one finds in England's pitches for some time while maintaining good focus in order to put up a good total for their sides. He added that if a batter is ready to grind out in the middle, chances of lasting longer at the crease increase.

"In England, in general, it's pretty challenging conditions for batters. As long as you are prepared to have a good grind, you can have success. You need to keep concentrating for longer periods of time, and you will get that intuition when it's time to take on the bowlers. More importantly, you need to be out there, and you have got to understand what your strengths are," said Rohit Sharma.
