Riyan Parag has enjoyed immense success in the ongoing calendar year. The youngster had a season of a lifetime with Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024. After years of criticism, Parag has finally entered the fans' good books with his impressive performances across all formats.
The 22-year-old made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals, as a 17-year-old in 2019. Once considered a prodigal talent, Parag has finally found things ticking in his sixth IPL stint. Primarily a batter, Parag has also transformed himself into a genuine all-rounder, bowling spin at will.
His exploits in the IPL 2024 - 573 runs in 15 matches - earned him his India debut against Zimbabwe. He then represented the Men in Blue against Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series. Parag's most memorable performances for his country came with the ball, and not with the bat.
He spoke about his bowling skills and hard work done to have the success that he did in Sri Lanka, on Sports with Ravish Youtube channel.

What did Riyan Parag say about his transformation as a bowler?
Riyan Parag revealed that he has not worked anything extra on his bowling, for his exploits against Sri Lanka. Predominantly a batter, Parag rolled his arm in the bilateral series against Sri Lanka. Picking six wickets across four games, the 22-year-old established himself as a handy bowler in the Indian setup.
However, the RR batter has revealed that he has done the hard yards behind the scenes, in the domestic circuit. He said, "Everyone thinks I've especially worked on my bowling. But I've taken wickets in domestic cricket. I have bowled around 350 overs every season. No one sees that because it isn't televised.
"So, it has been going on (bowling) for a long time. Because I genuinely want to do that. But now, when I bowled for India and in the IPL, it got highlighted more. But I haven't done anything extra on that."
