The Pakistan Cricket Board has reportedly confirmed to International Cricket Council (ICC) that Babar Azam and co. will travel to India for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
However, the PCB will send a security team to inspect all venues in India and ensure the safety of the players.
This decision comes at a point when PCB are at loggerheads with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the Asia Cup 2023 hosting issue.

A week ago, a PCB source had told news agency ANI that Pakistan are mulling over the option of not travelling to India.
"Yes we are thinking that we will not travel to India for World Cup matches if BCCI didn't send their team to Pakistan for Asia Cup. We want Sri Lanka or Bangladesh to host our matches, we want to play there not in India." ANI quoted a source.

However, in March 2023, Pakistan skipper Azam had also revealed that he is preparing to play the World Cup in India.
“We are focused on the World Cup in India and will try to put up a good show during the tournament,” Azam told Geo News.
“I will try to score runs alongside Mohammad Rizwan since we have a good combination at the top. But having said that it is not possible to score in every inning which is why it is important not to depend on only two players in the team. However, we also have other players in the team who are eager to play a match-winning role for the team on the field," he added.
According to Cricbuzz, India are likely to announce the dates and venues for the ICC Cricket World Cup after the Special General Meeting (SGM) in Ahmedabad on May 27.
One of the issued on the meeting agenda is the 'Formation of Working Group for the ICC World Cup 2023.'
