Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) host Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL on Monday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

RCB are heading into this game on the back of a comfortable win by 23 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC). Vyshak Vijay Kumar had a dream debut in the IPL as he picked up three important wickets including that of David Warner and Axar Patel to restrict DC to just 151 while chasing 174.

Virat Kohli has been in scintillating form and has already scored three 50s in four innings. The India international will be looking to continue his rich vein of form at the Chinnaswamy, in front of the home fans.

Meanwhile, CSK have had had a mixed start to their campaign with two victories and two losses.

They went down narrowly to Rajasthan Royals in their last game despite late heroics by Ravindra Jadeja and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

However, they have got Devon Conway and Ajinkya Rahane who have looked in good form and if the middle order batsmen in Shivam Dubey, Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayadu can chip in with quickfire knocks they have the potential to put up a big score at the Chinnaswamy.

These two teams have faced each other 29 times in the past, with CSK having the better head-to-head record with 19 wins compared to RCB's 10.

RCB vs DC: Team news

RCB is facing some injury issues, as Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of the IPL due to an Achilles problem, and Josh Hazlewood is still not fit to play.

On a positive note, they have signed Wayne Parnell as a replacement for the injured Reece Topley, who had to return home after dislocating his shoulder.

Meanwhile, CSK have their fair share of injuries to deal with. Dhoni is nursing a knee injury but he is expected to continue playing.

"He will play. It is true that he has an injury to his knee but he has not told us otherwise,” confirmed CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan to Cricbuzz.

However, Ben Stokes will not be available as he has injured his left toe. He is expected to miss the next three games.

"Ben is doing well, he is recovering fast, and should be fit for the April 30 game. He could even be ready earlier, maybe by the April 27 game,” CSK CEO said.

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar will be out for a bit longer after he hurt his hamstring against Mumbai Indians.

"He will take longer than Ben to be back in action. Hopefully, he will be ready by the first week of May," Viswanathan said.
