Shubman Gill has not had the best of times following the completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The batting sensation had the world at his feet after performing sensationally at the IPL where he won the Orange Cap.

He even started the year on a high, by scoring big in ODIs and T20Is including a double hundred against Sri Lanka earlier in January.

However, it  hasn't been the same after the IPL. Gill has failed to translate his form from the IPL to international cricket. He has lacked his confidence and failed to perform in Test as well as ODIs.

What did Dravid say about Shubman Gill?

Dravid spoke in favour of Shubman Gill, despite his poor form on the Carribbean soil.

While defending the youngster, the Indian coach cited the tough batting conditions in the Windies behind Gill's inability to score big.

I wouldn't worry too much about Shubman. He is batting beautifully. He's playing really well. He looks really good. It can happen. I mean, you can't criticize people after every single game. These things can happen. It is tough, It's not easy batting conditions.
