The current chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi has been appointed Pakistan Union minister.. Naqvi, who was appointed as full-time chief of the PCB only a month ago, now has another job role on his profile, simultaneously.
He has been appointed as Pakistan's minister for Interior and Narcotics. However, this is not the first time that a leader of a country's cricket governing body would serve in the country's federal structure.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has ruled out the appointment of Naqvi as an infringement of the ICC rules. The ICC has deemed the appointment as well within the legalities of the zenith institution. In case of breaching the laws, the ICC has suspended the Cricket Boards until the issues are resolved, as in the case of Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
The ICC does not intend to take things ahead, and Naqvi would serve the dual role without any intervention.

This is not the first time that a leader of the cricket governing body has assumed a role in the federal regime of the country.
Former BCCI chief Sharad Pawar was simultaneously managing the responsibility of being a Minister of Agriculture of Indian government between 2005 and 2008.
