In April, Pakistan took on a weakened New Zealand side in a five-match home T20I series which ended level at 2-2. Earlier this month, the team embarked on a tour of Ireland and England, with the former finishing 2-1 in their favour after they had lost the series opener.

Pakistan were scheduled to take on England in Leeds in the first match of their series, on Wednesday. However, persistent rain in the Yorkshire area ahead of the game meant a decision was taken to call it of, even before the scheduled start time of 5:00 PM local time.

After unconvincing performances against New Zealand and Ireland, Babar Azam and his men would like to put in improved showings against England, in order to play themselves into some form ahead of their departure to USA for the T20 World Cup.
