The 2024 ICC T20 World Cup is set to kick off in a few days time with the United States and the West Indies hosting the prestigious tournament. Ahead of the massive tournament, Pakistan have been preparing well with a three-match series and a four-match series against Ireland and England respectively.

The Pakistani team managed to defeat the Irish 2-1 after losing the first game of the series. They are currently in the United Kingdom and will be taking on England in the second T20I at Edgbaston after the first game in Leeds was washed off. England had defeated Pakistan in the previous edition of the World Cup in the final to become two-time champions of the tournament.

Since Pakistan’s squad announcement for the World Cup, senior batter, Fakhar Zaman shed light on Pakistan’s approach and mindset entering the World Cup.

Fakhar Zaman reveals how Pakistan's approach has changed since Ireland defeat

Talking to the media, Fakhar Zaman talked about the Pakistan team’s changed mentality following the defeat against Ireland in the first game in the series. Zaman explained how the team’s introspection of their performances helped them to improve and make a comeback in the latter two games.

We have a team meeting after every game which has developed us to create a strong mindset. The mindset is to score 200 or more than that every time we get a chance to bat first and we need to approach the World Cup with the same mindset

Pakistan have been often criticized about their relatively slow batting in T20Is, especially since the game has been adapting so quickly. IPL 2024 is a prime example of the modern T20 mentality wherein teams have been crossing 200 and 250-run mark quite easily

Talking about the same, Zaman said to the media that the team has been improving, especially in terms of batting.

Our batting has been often criticized by the media, otherwise our bowling has been world class. I assure you that you will see the differences and every time we step onto the pitch, the intent will be very clear, to score at least 200 runs. The change in mindset occured after the loss against Ireland.
