Despite all the positivity surrounding a comprehensive victory, there was a cause for concern for India when Hardik Pandya was taken off the field while bowling his first over when Bangladesh were batting.
Pandya could only bowl three deliveries before hurting his ankle and hobbled off the field.
He was then not required to bat. However, there were concerns over his injury as Pandya offers vital balance to this Indian side as a pace-bowling all-rounder who can hit the ball hard.
Rohit Sharma on Hardik Pandya's injury
After the game, India captain Rohit Sharma was inevitably asked about Pandya's injury status. And the star opener calmed fears around Pandya's injury and stated that it did not look serious.
"He pulled up a bit sore. There is no major damage, that is good for us," he said.
However, Rohit did not reveal if Pandya would be fit to take the field against New Zealand on Sunday at Dharamsala. He said that a call on that would be taken at a later date.
"But obviously with an injury like that, we have to assess every day and we will do whatever is required," he added.
