No more 'angry celebrations' at the World Cup? Virat Kohli reveals how he is working on personal growth image

Virat Kohli is gearing up to potentially lift his second World Cup commencing on October 5 in India.

Kohli enters the tournament in exceptional form, nearing Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most ODI centuries. Despite being considered one of the best, he endured a 1020-day gap before his 71st international century.

However, a turning point occurred during the Asia Cup last year, that saw him reignite his form with a smashing hundred against Afghanistan. Kohli has since added six more centuries to his tally, reaching a total of 77.

How is Virat Kohli working on personal growth?

In a candid chat with the ICC, Kohli revealed how he had been working on himself to get back in form over the last few years.

"The last two and a half years have taught me a lot. Those angry celebrations are a thing of the past. I have had many suggestions, lots of advice has come my way; people were telling me I was doing this wrong, that wrong.

“I picked out all the videos from the best time I had, same initial movement, same approach towards the ball and it was just what was happening inside my head, I wasn't able to explain it to anyone," said Kohli.

Kohli's transformation highlights his dedication to maintaining peak performance and composure on the field, a departure from his fiery on-field persona.

As Kohli prepares for the World Cup, fans anticipate not only his batting prowess but also his newfound inner calm, a potential game-changer on the international stage.
