The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to be hosted in Pakistan. It could be the first time that Pakistan host an ICC tournament, since jointly hosting the ICC ODI World Cup in 1996.

However, there are rising concerns over Pakistan's hosting of the ICC event alone. Amid political gaps with Pakistan, the BCCI are reportedly not willing to send Team India across the border.

As a result, the chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has put the onus on the ICC, to get India to Pakistan to feature in the ICC event. Naqvi has dismissed his willingness to co-host the Champions Trophy 2025, for India's sake.

What did Mohsin Naqvi say about Pakistan co-hosting the Champions Trophy 2025?

As per Pakistani media house Express-News, Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB Chairman, is unwilling to host the ICC Champions Trophy on a hybrid model.

The Asia Cup 2024 was held on one such model, with India playing their matches in Sri Lanka. Even the knockouts of the continental tournament were scheduled in Sri Lanka, as India were crowned eventual champions.

Naqvi has held the ICC responsible, for bringing India to Pakistan, amidst geopolitical differences between the countries. India last visited Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2008. Despite Naqvi's claims, BCCI remains reluctant to send the Indian contingent to Pakistan.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made it clear to the ICC that Pakistan will host the 2025 Champions Trophy, and there will be no hybrid model. It's ICC's responsibility to bring India to Pakistan for the event, and not PCB's task, as per Pakistani media outlet, Express News.
