Former India batsman and 2011 World Cup Final hero Gautam Gambhir usually comes across as a calm and composed figure, however, when needed, a shift in demeanour occurs in Gambhir if he is provoked by someone or is defending a teammate.
As a result, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has often had on-field rifts on the pitch. In the most recent Indian Premier League (IPL) season, he was a part of a heated exchange with former teammate Virat Kohli after LSG lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

This wasn't the first the two iconic batters had a coming together, and their rivalry has grown over the years. Similarly, Gambhir also has a long-lasting rift with former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
'My fight with them isn't personal': Gambhir
Speaking to News18, Gambhir opened up on his rivalry with both Kohli and Dhoni. The LSG mentor said that there's nothing personal about the fights he has had with his former teammates, rather all of them just want to win, therefore on the pitch things can get heated, but they never go beyond it.
"See normally I don’t explain my relationships. This question has been asked to me regarding MS Dhoni too - How is my relation with MS Dhoni? I share the same relation with MS Dhoni as it’s with Virat Kohli. My fight with Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni or any other player isn’t personal. My fight is limited to the field. We both want to win. And it should stay on the field," said Gambhir.
