Mumbai Indians announced on Tuesday that English international fast bowler Jofra Archer has left the team and his compatriot Chris Jordan will replace him.

Archer headed back home for rehabilitation, and his recovery and fitness will now be monitored by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).

What happened to Mumbai Indians pacer Jofra Archer?

Jofra Archer has been out of action for almost two years due to elbow and back injuries and returned to action only in January 2023. He last played a Test match in March 2021. Since the start of the IPL, he has been plagued with injuries and illness. He has played only five games in the ongoing IPL season.

Who is Jofra Archer's replacement in Mumbai Indians?

MI announced that 34-year-old English all-rounder Chris Jordan has replaced Archer in the squad. Jordan has appeared in 87 T20Is for England where he scored 432 runs and picked 96 wickets. He had previously played for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings in the IPL.

How has Jofra Archer performed in IPL 2023?

MI bought the fast bowler for whopping INR 8 crores in IPL 2022 auction. With Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of action for the entire tournament, MI hoped that Archer would step up and deliver in the absence of the ace fast bowler.
