MS Dhoni, former captain of the Indian cricket team and Chennai Super Kings, is known for his calm nature on and off the field. Recently, Indian pacer Mohit Sharma revealed a lesser-known side of Dhoni – his love for retro Bollywood music, especially songs by the legendary singer Kishore Kumar.
In a chat on the 2 Sloggers YouTube channel, Sharma talked about Dhoni’s fondness for music and shared a fun moment from an antakshari session where Dhoni sang Kishore Kumar’s hit song "Salame Ishq Meri Jaan."

MS Dhoni's love for Kishore Kumar
Mohit Sharma shared that MS Dhoni is a big fan of Kishore Kumar. During a casual gathering after a match between CSK and Kolkata Knight Riders, Dhoni joined in on an impromptu antakshari session with his friends, including singer Jassie Gill.
Mohit described how Dhoni, who rarely opens up in public, showed his love for old Bollywood classics by singing one of Kishore Kumar's popular songs.
"It was after a match in Kolkata. A few of our friends were there. Jassie Gill was also there. It was late at night and we started playing antakshari. We started with antakshari but after some time, everyone started singing their favourite songs. Mahi bhai loves songs and is a fan of Kishore Kumar." said Mohit Sharma.

It’s no secret that Dhoni enjoys retro music, as he famously used the song "Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar" while announcing his retirement from international cricket in 2020.
When Mohit Sharma posted the video of Dhoni singing, he humorously mentioned that if he had asked for permission, it would have taken years for Dhoni to respond. The video, which was shared on Dhoni’s birthday last year, was a pleasant surprise for fans who rarely get to see this side of the cricket legend.
Another interesting aspect of Dhoni’s life that Mohit Sharma revealed is his minimal use of mobile phones. Dhoni is known to avoid unnecessary phone usage.
He doesn’t pick up his phone unless absolutely needed. Instead, he prefers playing games on his iPad, enjoying the larger screen. According to Mohit, Dhoni only looks for his phone when he needs to make a call or send a message, making him difficult to reach at times.
