A recent report from Deportes & Finanzas revealed the number of interactions of sports teams on Instagram for May 2023. And interestingly, reigning Indian Premier League (IPL) Champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have topped the list. As it turns out, CSK has beaten the likes of 14-time UEFA Champions League winners and La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid.
CSK have also beat other sporting giants like Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United and more.
Fellow IPL franchises Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are fourth and fifth on the list, respectively.

How many interactions did CSK have on Instagram in May 2023?
CSK had 377 million interactions on Instagram across May 2023. The nearest team to them, La Liga giants Real Madrid, had only 274 million interactions.
The whopping difference in interactions has been of little surprise. MS Dhoni is a phenomenon in the country. Such is the fan-following of the CSK skipper. And with 2023 edition expected to be Dhoni’s last IPL, there was huge interest in CSK and also the team winning the silverware caused a clean sweep in the number of social-media interactions.
La Liga Champions Barcelona recorded the third-most interactions on Instagram in May 2023 - 246 million. They were closely followed by Mumbai Indians with 243 million interactions. Arch-rivals RCB wasn’t much behind, with 235 million interactions.
