Hafeez, accompanied by his wife, arrived late at the airport, leading authorities to deny them boarding. The couple, allegedly eventually caught another flight after a few hours.
As of now, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not released an official statement regarding the incident.
Will Mohammad Hafeez pay the fine of $500?
After being appointed as the team director, Hafeez has allegedly imposed a fine of $500 late fine on players and staff to instill discipline and punctuality within the squad.
However, after being guilty of the same offence, it remains to be seen if the coach himself pays the fine.
Having already lost the series, with Australia securing a 2-0 lead following a 79-run victory in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the Pakistani team will pay for pride at the iconic SCG.
Furthermore, speculations indicate that Saim Ayub may make his Test debut in Sydney, potentially replacing Imam-ul-Haq, who has been under the scanner for his performance.
Moreover, vice-captain Shaheen Shah Afridi's workload will be reduced and he might bowl in a reduced capacity in the third test.
