Ben Stokes scored his maiden century of the ongoing 2023 Cricket World Cup on Wednesday against Netherlands as he powered England to a formidable total of 339 runs.
The English all-rounder played a brilliant knock of 108 runs off 84 balls while he was ably supported by Dawid Malan who scored 87 and Chris Woakes who hit 51 runs.

As Stokes registered a potential match-winning century, former Pakistan opener and captain Mohammad Hafeez took to Twitter to praise the Englishman for a selfless innings.
In the process, he also seemed to have taken a sly dig at star Indian batter Virat Kohli as Hafeez indirectly compared Kohli's innings against South Africa to that of Stokes' knock.
On November 5, Kohli scored his 49th century and thereby equalled Sachin Tendulkar's record of hitting the most number of 100s in ODI cricket.
While the batter's knock helped India post a total of 326 runs in 50 overs, he did receive some criticism for slowing down his innings at certain points which was even termed as a selfish innings by some critics. He scored 101 runs off 121 balls.

Did Mohammad Hafeez take a dig at Virat Kohli while praising Ben Stokes?
After England's innings, Hafeez took to Twitter where he wrote,

The Selfish vs Selfless term used Hafeez seemed to be a dig at the Indian star as he called Stokes' innings selfless while comparing it to Kohli's 'selfish' knock against South Africa.
