Mitchell Starc rose up to the occasion when his team needed him the most. After having an underwhelming IPL season so far, the 24.75 Crore-man has finally announced himself, that too at the biggest stage - the IPL 2024 Qualifier 1. 

The Australian bowled an unplayable spell against SRH in the Qualifier 1 clash, at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The venue reminded him of the World Cup Final, which he and his country won, in a convincing fashion. 

The 34-year-old reminisced of the big night from November last year, as he metaphorically connected his match-winning spell against SRH in the IPL 2024 knockouts, both in the gap of six months.

How did Mitchell Starc refer his Qualifier 1 performance to the World Cup 2023 Final?

Mitchell Starc has been thrown under the bus by fans and critics for most parts of the season. The IPL record-signing, however, reminded all of his critics about his abilities, in the Qualifier 1 clash against SRH. The 24.75 Crores that KKR spent on Starc, seem all recouped, with this one performance .

The Australian pacer reminded himself of the times he has played in crunch games. Starc called himself fortunate, to play in big games, including the World Cup Final on November 19, 2023. Australia beat hosts India in the Final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in Ahmedabad - same venue where SRH are playing KKR in the Qualifier 1.
