Pakistan team director Mickey Arthur made a bizarre claim that he couldn't hear enough 'Dil Dil Pakistan' in Ahmedabad and went on to slam ICC calling the Cricket World Cup clash against India a 'BCCI event'.

It was a festive atmosphere in Ahmedabad as more than 100,000 fans flocked to the Narendra Modi Stadium to witness the marquee fixture of the tournament.

However, it was a one-sided affair as the Men in Blue outclassed Pakistan by seven wickets and 117 balls to clinch the two points on offer.

Arthurs's side were no match in any department against the rampant Blues but the tactician chose to bring up a bizarre reason in the post-match press conference while explaining Pakistan's loss.

What did Mickey Arthur say against ICC?

"It didn't seem like an ICC event tonight, let's be brutally honest. It seemed like a bilateral series, it seemed like a BCCI event. I didn't hear Dil Dil Pakistan coming through the microphones too often tonight.

"So yes, that does play a role, but I'm not going to use that as an excuse because for us, it was about living the moment, it was about the next ball and it was about how we were going to combat the Indian players tonight," he told reporters.

Despite the chastening defeat, Arthur is not ready to throw in the towel and believes in meeting India again in the title decider at the same venue.

"I'm looking forward to meeting India in the final," he added.

What next for India & Pakistan?
