Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will host Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on May 1, Monday, in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow.
LSG are currently third in the standings with 10 points after eight games, while RCB find themselves in the fifth spot with eight points from as many matches.
In their previous game, LSG scored 257 runs against Punjab Kings (PBKS) riding on the brilliance of Marcus Stoinis, who blazed his way to 74 off just 40 balls. Although they were expensive with the ball, they won the match by 56 runs.
Meanwhile, RCB got a mini-break to recharge their batteries since their 21-run loss to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at home on April 26. They have been pretty inconsistent this season and it remains to be seen if they have made the most of this break to regroup and start afresh for the next phase of the tournament.
The two teams have met each three times in the IPL. RCB have won twice while LSG have bagged one win in these three matches.
Here is a comprehensive guide on the pitch report, live toss, predicted lineups and team news ahead of LSG taking on GT.
LSG vs RCB pitch report
LSG are set to take on GT at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow. Opened in 2017, it is one of the newest stadiums in the country and has a seating capacity of 50,000, which makes it the fifth-largest international cricket stadium in India.
It is one of the rare pitches that favours bowlers, where both pacers and spinners have the upper hand over the batsmen.
"The square boundaries - one side is 72 metres, the other side is 63 metres. Straight it is 78 metres. It is a black soil pitch, so the bounce is relatively low. May not be high-scoring, but expect a bigger score than 145," stated Sanjay Manjrekar and Rohan Gavaskar during the pitch report.
In the previous match, GT won the match despite posting just 135 on the board which shows that the pitch indeed helps the bowlers.
