LSG vs MI: Pitch report, live toss, predicted lineups, and team news updates for IPL 2023 match image

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lock horns with Mumbai Indians (MI) in a crunch game at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, with the winner of this tie inching one step closer to clinching a playoff spot.

It's a must-win game for both teams in a lot of ways. With Gujarat Titans (GT) having already sealed their playoff spot and likely to finish on the top of the table, that leaves just three more playoff spots, for which the competition is really intense.

MI sit comfortably in third place and will become the second team to qualify for the playoffs if they win today, as they will leapfrog Chennai Super Kings (CSK) into second spot with 16 points.

LSG, should they win, will increase their chances of qualifying for the playoffs, but won't seal their place in the top four.

They'll have 15 points with one game to go (considering they defeat MI) and will either need another win or need other results to go their way if they lose their last game in order to qualify to the playoffs.

LSG vs MI pitch report

The match will be played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The construction of the Ekana Cricket Stadium began in 2014, and it was inaugurated in 2017. The fifth-highest of all Indian international cricket stadiums, it can accommodate 50,000 spectators.

The most recent full game to be played at the venue was two weeks ago.

Even if the temperature has significantly increased since then, the situation for the batters is not likely to improve. While concerns about the pitch's quality persist, clubs would aim to bat first.

Although spinners have received a lot of attention, pacers have been just as productive, picking up wickets more frequently than spinners and striking almost as frequently at nearly the same average.
