LSG skipper KL Rahul ruled out of IPL 2023; Doubtful for WTC final image

Injuries are an unfortunate but an unavoidable part of cricket. Many players have suffered season-ending or even short-term injuries in the ongoing IPL season.

The most recent player to be afflicted by an injury has been Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul. He injured himself in LSG’s encounter against the RCB on May 1. He pulled his hamstring just in the second over of the game while fielding. The preliminary scans have made his participation in the remainder of the 2023 IPL season a serious doubt.

Will KL Rahul play in IPL 2023 again?

Rahul is unlikely to be play a part in LSG's IPL campaign. The injury has also thrown into doubt his participation in the World Test Championship final.

In an interview with the PTI, a BCCI Official expressed his grief over Rahul’s injury. He stated that the LSG Skipper is a vital member of the test squad. He further said that for the sake of the WTC Final, KL will be rested throughout the rest of the IPL.

When is the World Test Championship final?

The World Test Championship final is to be held from June 7-11 at The Oval in London. Australia and India have qualified for the final.

India had qualified for the 2021 World Test Championship final as well but lost to New Zealand. Rahul's injury comes as a huge blow for the Men in Blue, who will be hoping the experienced batsman recovers in time.
