With the ODI World Cup just over a month away, discussions about team planning, squads, strategies and tactics are hotting up.

The biggest stars in the game will all be part of the mega-event, and so much revolves around the likes of ace players like Virat Kohli, Jos Buttler, Shaheen Shah Afridi and so on.

As one of the game’s modern legends, Kohli is always a talking point, even more so when big tournaments like the World Cup come around.

Despite his dominance on an individual level, India have not been able to win an ICC trophy in the last 10 years. But even with Kohli’s career perhaps just starting to wind down, he is a force to be reckoned with.

For opposition bowlers and captains coming up against India, the big question is how to deal with Virat Kohli. Former South African pacer Makhaya Ntini had some ideas about that.

In an interview with Revsportz, Ntini was asked about how bowlers should approach trying to get Kohli out. He said,

As a bowler, you should not abuse him. He starves for someone who will say something that will tick him. You should leave him as it is. Let him play his natural game and make his own mistakes. That is how all the countries will be able to get him out.”

“He gets frustrated when no one says something to him. But the moment he sees someone who is trying to tick him off, he starves for that and he becomes dangerous. So my advice to bowlers playing against India is don't say a word, let him make his own mistakes without saying a word.

When is the Indian cricket team playing next?

India play next in the Asia Cup. Their first match of the tournament is against Pakistan on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
