In the latest T20I rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has climbed to the top of the bowling rankings after fascinating returns against Australia.
Bishnoi played all five T20Is in the five-match T20I series that began just days after India's World Cup final loss against the same team. The 23-year-old picked up nine wickets at an average of 18.22 and was adjudged the Player of the Series for his exploits.
The Jodhpur-born spinner is the only Indian bowler to feature in the top 10 of the bowling rankings in T20Is.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav has retained his spot as the world's highest-ranked T20I batsman, even though he had an average series against Australia by his lofty standards.

What next for Ravi Bishnoi?
The wily leggie has certainly cemented his place in India's T20I team, at least for the next few series. He has overtaken Yuzvendra Chahal in the race for a berth in the squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Bishnoi has been selected for the South Africa tour, where he will be keen to impress the selectors and stake authority over the spot of the team's primary spinner.
However, with Kuldeep Yadav in the reckoning as well, Bishnoi might have to show remarkable consistency if he is to fight for a place in the playing XI.
