In another reshuffle in the recently announced ICC rankings, South Africa's Keshav Maharaj replaced India's Mohammed Siraj as the numero uno ODI bowler.

Since the last rankings update, Maharaj has claimed seven wickets in three games with his best coming against New Zealand in Pune where he took a four-for. There is only a difference of three points between Maharaj and Siraj.

Gill, who has scored 270 runs in seven innings at the 2023 Cricket World Cup, had become the fourth Indian, after Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, to be ranked No 1 in the world in ODI rankings last Wednesday.

He retained this spot, all thanks to his quick-fire 51-run knock versus the Netherlands.

Glenn Maxwell, who hammered a double-century against Afghanistan, playing one of the all-time great World Cup innings, moved 17 places up in the batting charts.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have settled at fourth and fifth positions respectively. Shreyas Iyer's hundred versus the Netherlands took him to the 13th spot, while KL Rahul, who became the Indian with the fastest ODI World Cup ton, rose up to 17th from 24th in the batting rankings.
